Scholarship Rules & Regulations

Mainstreet’s student scholarship program is open to residents who are from or studying in the communities in which Mainstreet Credit Union operates (London-Middlesex, Chatham-Kent, Huron-Perth, Sarnia-Lambton).

Students must be studying a college or university program.

The award winners must become a member of Mainstreet Credit Union (if not already) and open a free (student) chequing account to claim the cash prize.

Mainstreet Credit Union shall have the right at any time to require proof of identity and /or eligibility to participate in the process. Failure to provide such proof may result in disqualification.

All personal and other information provided to Mainstreet Credit Union for the purpose of the Scholarship must be truthful, complete, accurate and in no way misleading.

Mainstreet Credit Union may at any time at their sole discretion disqualify any entrant who: does not meet the eligibility criteria, fails to comply with these Rules and Regulations, attempts to enter the application process in any manner or through any means other than as described in these Rules and Regulations, attempts to disrupt the Scholarship process or attempts to circumvent any of these Rules and Regulations.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Upload an original photo or video (no more than 120 seconds in length) that illustrates what inspires your future career direction.
  • Use only the English language
  • Content of photos and videos are prohibited to contain, depict or refer to any crude, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, disparaging, discriminatory, offensive, illegal or otherwise unsuitable language, activity or other content (all as determined by Mainstreet Credit Union at their sole discretion).
  • Be sure that you have carefully read all the rules and have completed all appropriate steps to enter.

Judging Your Video:

Entries will be judged by a panel of judges chosen by the contest organizers. 
The decisions of the judges on all matters relating to the contest are final, conclusive and not open to dispute.

A judge will be considered to be in a conflict of interest if the Submission involves:

  • a friend
  • an immediate family member (as defined above)
  • an institutional colleague; or
  • a person with whom the judge is involved in a dispute

Entries that meet all eligibility requirements will be judged on: Relevance of the message, content and creativity.

License:

By entering this competition, you irrevocably and exclusively assign all copyright, without limitation of time, place, medium, support or language, in the post to Mainstreet Credit Union and waive all legal and moral rights to the photo/video and post content in favour of Mainstreet Credit Union. Accordingly, you acknowledge that Mainstreet Credit Union will have the unrestricted and exclusive right to use the post and its contents for any purpose, including but not limited to, publishing it in Mainstreet’s web and social sites for promotional purposes without further compensation. Mainstreet also has the right to (but is not required to) use your name, image, likeness, age, biographical information and school name. You confirm that you are the sole author of the photo/video/post and that you own all rights to it and are able to fully assign all rights to Mainstreet as contemplated above.

General:

The decisions of Mainstreet Credit Union in relation to the scholarship will be final and binding. Mainstreet reserves the right to disqualify entrants and/or entries that do not comply with the aforementioned Rules & Regulations.

Please note: If a minimum of 10 entries isn't received by the deadline the competition is null and void.
