Should I submit my references along with my resume?
No, that is not necessary. We will ask for them after your first interview with us.
How long will my resume be held for?
Your resume will be held for 6 months. During that time, if a position becomes available that may fit your skill set we will call you to discuss the opportunity.
How often are job opportunities posted to the Careers section of the Mainstreet website?
Any time we have job opportunities, we will post them clearly indicating the date that the resume is required to be in by. After that, the posting will be removed. Please check back from time to time to learn of any new possible career opportunities with Mainstreet Credit Union.
How does our hiring process work?
We will always post a position internally first. If an internal candidate is not identified we will post the opportunity externally on our Mainstreet careers website and to other external job search sites.
We suggest that you read the requirements in the job posting clearly to ensure it would be a good fit for you.
Pre-Screen Telephone Call - If we see that you would potentially be a great fit for Mainstreet, we will call you to have a pre-screening interview. If you are successful with your pre-screen call, we will then set-up an interview date.
Interview - Typically there will be 2 interviews, the first one with the recruitment team and the second interview with the manager or department head. You will be given an opportunity to discuss your potential career path at Mainstreet in greater detail and to see how it fits into our vision and plan.
Testing - With some of the positions, additional testing may be required before any formal decisions and/or offers are made.
Job Offer - If we decide that you are the right candidate for us, you will be contacted for another meeting and will be presented with a job offer and a letter of employment along with other documentation should you accept.
Orientation - Should we both mutually agree on the offer and start date, your initial 3 week orientation process will begin and will be an on-going journey of learning, coaching and mentoring by very experienced employees and your manager. This will be the beginning steps of your career with Mainstreet Credit Union!
